Okkul is a visionary brand that emerged a few years ago from the minds of Zsanett Fábián and Szabolcs Major. The couple has a relentless passion for unique eyewear, so at the beginning the frames were created just for their own use. As the love of the creative process got deeper, more and more shapes and frames have been made. okkul embarked on a journey to create handmade frames that transcend mere accessories. Working in the heart of Budapest, they created a brand that fuses comfort and quality, ensuring that each frame becomes a defining statement for those who wear them.
Over the years, okkul has grown not just as a brand, but as a family. From the very beginning, it was a dream for Zsani and Szabolcs, but it wouldn't be the same without the incredible team that formed around the brand, from friends and family. Each member of this team has brought their unique talents, passion, and dedication to make the brand what it is today.
Crafted from cellulose acetate plastics, derived from the natural cellulose found in sources like wood pulp and cotton linter, every piece by okkul caresses the skin with gentle grace and minimizes allergenic reactions. However, it is not only the exquisite materials that make these frames stand out. Each piece undergoes a detailed handcrafted process, from precise cutting and sawing to delicate gluing and the finishing touches. This dedication to craftsmanship shines through, imbuing every frame with the brand's distinctive soul.
The completion of okkul's first collection was preceded by two years of research and development. This intensive pursuit of perfection ensures unparalleled quality and uniqueness, strengthening the brand's position as a true creator of fine eyewear.
The brand started with just a few models and currently offers a captivating selection of around 10 distinct shapes, showcasing an array of colors and decoration. Moreover, their versatile frames can accommodate a wide range of lenses, further enhancing the individuality and customization that lie at the core of the okkul experience. The brand has grown beyond Budapest, with pieces available now in Hamburg, Rome and Japan, reflecting its international appeal and reach.
Continuously expanding its horizon to connect with people who share the same passion for high-quality eyewear, or handmade products, the brand has reached an equally diverse and unique customer base as the frames themselves. On an international level, the brand had the chance to create special frames for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. In Hungary okkul has collaborated with Dzsúdló and created a frame together for his new brand.
